The Townsville Correctional Centre Capacity Uplift Project (TCC CUP) is a major expansion and upgrade of the existing Townsville Correctional Centre. The project will increase the facility's capacity through the construction of a new 200-cell, 400-bed secure accommodation building, a new satellite medical facility, a new industries laundry, expanded staff and prisoner support facilities, special purpose cells, electronic security upgrades, and associated infrastructure and service capacity improvements. The works are being undertaken within an operational high-security correctional environment, requiring stringent safety, security, access, and workforce compliance controls throughout delivery.
