CPB Contractors has been selected as Managing Contractor by the Department of Defence to construct the Point Wilson Waterside Infrastructure Remediation project (PWWIR).
The Department of Defence will upgrade the existing Point Wilson Waterside Infrastructure within the Point Wilson Explosives area. Key components of the project include:
- Upgrading the waterside facilities for importation and offloading of explosive ordnance
- Reconstruction of the existing 2.2km jetty structure
- Reconstruction of the wharf and associated berthing components including dolphins
- Reconstruction of the link span between the jetty and wharf, as well as a new waterside amenity building
- Replacement of the cathodic protection system on the jetty/wharf structure
- Installation of services along the length of the jetty/wharf structure
- Upgrading the landside amenities area and associated civil works
- Remediation of the main access road pavement
- Construction of a new pump house
- Earthworks and service trenching/installation
- Upgrade of the main entrance gate
