Paradise Dam Essential Works project is to reduce dam risks requiring complex construction methodology in a tight timeframe while focusing on risk mitigation and value management.
The Paradise Dam Improvement Project Essential Works (the Project) is being undertaken to achieve risk reduction measures and an improvement in risk profile of the Paradise Dam prior to the 2020/2021 wet season.
The dam owner and operator (Sunwater Limited) is engaging a Contractor to successfully deliver critical project objectives whilst recognising:
- The project is essential in ensuring the long term stability of the dam whilst enhancing community safety management in times of record flooding
- The project will secure the long term water supply for irrigation and urban use for the local populations
- The project is as an economic enabler for regional Queensland with a focus on local job creation and regional supply opportunities to maximise economic and social benefits for the businesses, communities and families of CQ.
- The Essential Works are part of a broader scope for Paradise Dam improvement scheme which will require a collaborative approach to design and construction.
