CPB Contractors has been contracted by Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) for the wet plant detailed earthworks and concrete package on the Iron Bridge Project. The Iron Bridge Project is for the development of a new magnetite mine (including processing and transport facilities) and associated infrastructure at the Iron Bridge Magnetite Project site to support production of 22 wet million tonnes per annum (wmtpa) of high grade, magnetite concentrate product.
The Iron Bridge site comprises the North Star, Eastern Limb, Glacier Valley and West Star magnetite iron ore deposits, located 145km south of Port Hedland. Delivery of first ore is expected in the first half of calendar year 2022, with ramp up to full production within 12 months.
Access to the site is made from Port Hedland which is approximately 145 km from the project site. Of the 145 km, approximately 110 km are sealed road and the remaining approximately 35km unsealed road which includes passing over many floodways.
