The Christchurch Convention Centre also known as Te Pae is being funded by the Crown. CPB Contractors is the main principle contractor with design by Woods Bagot in conjunction with Warren and Mahoney.

The Christchurch Convention Centre will be a world class conference facility supported by accommodation, retail, hospitality and public transport. In a competitive environment where convention centers around the world are expanding their capacity to accommodate larger events, the Christchurch Convention Centre will be a boutique facility, set in a well-organized and compact, regenerating city.

Construction of the Convention Centre is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2020, with events to be hosted from mid to late 2020
